Linda Fitzgerald plans her wardrobe for the Royal Ascot at Digiturf.com

Linda Fitzgerald Has Designs On Royal Ascot

Hilda Becker reporting from the Royal Ascot 2012 reports that Victoria Beckham cuts an elegant figure in her Star Trek, block-colour dress, hands on hips so sharp you could cut your wrists on them, her long hair casually falling over her shoulders, in a braid that looks like she just rolled out of bed looking so effortlessly refined and casually elegant all at the small time. Unfortunately, we’re not speaking to David Beckham’s stylish wife but the decidedly unstylish Linda Fitzgerald, star jockey on the virtual horse racing circuit at Digiturf.com.

Linda Fitzgerald explains, "There’s a small minority of us female jockeys who are more interested in fashion, than dieting to become virtual horse racing superstars, and Royal Ascot gives us an opportunity to express our love of fashion but this year they’ve hired the fashion police to enforce a new dress code that leaves us little choice but wear your silks and ride your virtual horses in the Royal Ascot on Digiturf.com!"

About 300,000 are expected to attend Royal Ascot and Digiturf.com’s female jockeys intend to put trainers and their stylish silks on the map. Linda Fitzgerald was designing her own outfit for the Royal Ascot but was advised that she would be forced to cover up with a pashminas and waistcoat rather expose her flesh on an unsuspecting public.

The Royal Ascot’s new dress code was announced in January to raise the standards of sartorial elegance following criticism that certain ladies were contravening the fashion rules. They’ve been advised that dresses and skirts must fall just above the knee but trouser suits are acceptable attire provided they are full length and of matching material and colour. Hats are compulsory.

Linda is most upset that her entire ensemble was shredded by the fashion critics. Apparently, sporting white satin shorts tucked into her exposed midriff is not an appropriate look for the Royal Ascot. She’s decided instead of pursuing a career in fashion she will continue with her career in virtual horse racing in her most elegant jodhpurs and swankiest designer silks ever!

The Race Programmer is delighted that the female jockeys are taking an interest in their appearance, he also felt their standards were dropping a bit, so he’s adding US$500.00 to the Royal Ascot sponsorships on Saturday, 23 June 2012. All trainers whose silks are recognised on a female jockey will be entered into a lucky draw to win one of the following prizes:

US$60.00 G1 Winner:
US$25.00 G2 Winner:
US$15.00 G3 Winner:

Plus there will also be two Prive Royal Ascot sponsored with US$200.00!

Congratulations to the Diamond Jubilee Lucky Draw Winners on Digiturf.com- here they are...

Diamond Jubilee Lucky Draw Winners

Judging by the support for the Queen’s Jubilee on social media networks, like Twitter and Facebook, it looked like the Queen was set to colonize the internet. Even the world’s most popular search engine, Google, updated their doodle with an image of the Queen with her beloved corgis and diamonds. If Lady Gaga thought she was trending online she soon learnt that a lady has to bow before a queen. Equally popular were the Diamond Jubilee races- from which the following lucky draw winners were randomly selected to win one of the following prizes:

US$120.00 G1 Winner: Hurricane Carter (Horse Heaven Hills)
US$65.00 G2 Winner: Buckpecka (Jad Stables)
US$15.00 G3 Winner: Yaz (Svf Stables)

Don’t forget that it is Father’s day this Sunday- invite him to join your races!

The world of virtual horse racing from a different perspective in a retrospective!

Mckinleys Prepares To Lead The People
Its good to see that Mckinleys has kept her feet firmly on the ground and remained true to her roots. There’s been none of that lording about since she won last season’s Juvenile Classic Championship F - Gr1 with Domination Abi. One might anticipate a little gloating but the lady just gets classier by riding her horses with the common folk in the GR2 races. We love it. Is Mckinleys the next Queen of virtual horseracing- because that filly championship victory smacks just a little of a little déjà vu. Perhaps its motherhood, but Mckinleys appears to prefer being of service to the community. While Samster will always be our Queen (it takes a Triple crown to be a queen!) perhaps Mckinleys is the People’s Princess. Expect great things from Mckinley.

Confessions Of A Sales Ring Junkie
Is it just me of is there something supernaturally potent about Whymea Farms? He’s literally gone from newbie to nuclear, exploding through 1,000 runs and winning 92 of them. Let’s not be crass and start counting those them 500 Runs and 50 Wins awards on our fingers. Only 23 of those races were newbie races- the rest were stakes races, qualifiers and a championship. That kind of success is enough to make one green with envy but it just goes to show how a little application and a lot of preparation can take you anywhere on Digiturf. We’ve subsequently learnt that Whymea Farms doesn’t ask questions when he can find the answers himself, Maxim magazine applauds that he’s not a flashy dresser, and the RP informs us that Whymea is not interested in meeting anyone’s daughters- the man is already married. The RP checked!

No News From The Newbies
Where is the next generation of newbies to lead Digiturf into the future? Gw Stable, Dark Knight, Pc Friars, Mrpboys, Qbic, The Head Whip, Woltz's Bed, Top Wire, Yamming and Suicidal Stables are the most successful newbies of the season- and they’ve been equally successful maintaining a low profile. Remember when newbies were loud mouthed and obnoxious a few seasons back? Makes us miss their outspokenness in comparison. Perhaps if the leaders of the virtual horseracing community were to reach out, adopt a newbie for a day and welcome them to the community, maybe offer some assistance about finding the ideal races for their horses... because today they’re a newbie, tomorrow your friend and the next day they’re consoling you with, "Better luck next time- I just had the better jockey!

Remember when President Barack Obama said, “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”

Numero Uno Trezza, Numero Uno Trezza, Numero Uno Trezza
The golden boy who went platinum on Digiturf certainly knows no limits- his presence rivals the Roman Empire (old Italy). Trezza has already whipped up 123 wins from 492 races this season (or the last 2 weeks). Interestingly, none of them were in Newbie races because we did check. His cash balance, if it is to be believed, is clearly a GR1 cash balance. We know Trezza’s good fortune on Digiturf does little to brighten your day; his success is everywhere, in your face, in your races and even on your horse’s details page. And writing about it is like rubbing your nose it like bad puppy that just wet the carpet. Isn’t there anywhere one can go without having Trezza in the picture?

If You Can’t Be #1 Rather Be # 4656 Instead
Trezza might be the tallest poppy in the Digiturf garden of success but he’s by no means the only successful trainer. The current top ten eager beaver, over achieving, credit crunching, recession busting , horse racing trainers are ...

1: Trezza Stables ($8,165)
2: MudFlaps ($4,656)
3: Chrisman ($4,381)
4: PillButt ($3,181)
5: Captinj ($2,416)
6: Knickerbocker Farms ($2,142)
7: Tri M Fent Stables ($2,128)
8: Samster ($1,457)
9: Winning 420 ($1,329)
10: Black Lotus ($1,267)

Apparently, the only thing that tastes sweeter than success is being more successful than the next. Next!

All You Need Is Attitude
Anyone can be a champion trainer but it takes more than money to get a horse into the Winners Circle. An incredible amount of skill, savvy and strategy is required when it comes to managing the future of a champion. It takes a winning attitude to get those horses across the finish line first. Effective immediately; One Eye Bandit, This One Hurts and Purple King are leading the Current Championship Point Standings. With such forward planning one can only expect great things from these horses and their owners. So, what are you going to be doing with your horses today?

They Shoot Horses Don’t They?
A sad fact of life is that we all have to cash in our chips at the great roulette wheel of life. It makes no difference if you’re big or small, rich or tall, tinker, tailor, beggar man or thief; when your number is up- it’s up. Following the natural cycle of life, the old makes way for the young and the miracle of life continues. The life of a champion is no different. If you can’t earn your keep then it’s time to bite the bullet. Farewell to last season’s Championship Series contenders; Annie's Liberator, Blazing Princess, Captainamerica, Capucine, Darker Shade, Dragon Warrior, Fantasmic, Just A Figment, King Of The World, Naval Hero, Reina De Diablos, Royal Clash, Six Perfections, Song Qinzong, The Blackfish, Three Charms, Trogg and Whotoldthewife.

Which brings me to my next point. Sometimes, the only sanctuary these retired horses can find is when a kindly person takes them into their hearts and creates a sanctuary for these great horses. For a nominal donation of only $1,000 (once off) to my foundation, I can create a sanctuary that cares for these great horses throughout their golden years. Please note, The Edward Bell Foundation For Retiring Hoarses does not accept cheques or bonus credits! You want to send me $1,000 for my foundation because you know that nobody knows hoarses better than Edward Bell!

Complete our poll
Whose horse would you happily retire even if you had to pay for the bullet?

The results will be published in the upcoming Track Tabloid. The prizes include world peace, global cooling and ten consolation prizes of positive energy to share with your best friends.

Edward Bell is a freelance writer whose credits include Mens Health, GQ, FHM, Fitlife, ESPN and Times Media Limited. If he wasn’t so obsessed with stalking the virtual horseracing community he might find enough time to nurture a hangover, sleep in late, write something meaningful or meet a nice girl of marriageable proportions instead of talking enthusiastically about cartoon horses every chance he gets with strangers at the bus stop!

Are cartoon horses the new currency for online gamers and horse lovers alike?

artoon horses can pay off

Updated: March 11, 2011, 12:08 PM ET
Digiturf.com

You can call it a graphic novel or a comic book but that doesn't change the fact that the original 12-page Superman comic book sold for $1.5 million (US). Those old Superman comics you threw away when you graduated from college may be worth more today than what your retirement fund will be in thirty years because serious collectors are prepared to pay big money for vintage comic books.

You could also call a virtual horse that sells for $6,001.00 (US) a 'cartoon' but that doesn't change the fact that its owner was laughing all the way to the bank when he cashed his check before buying more of those cartoon horses on Digiturf.com. Virtual horse racing is becoming serious business for horse racing fans looking for online entertainment -- and what can be more entertaining than having fun making money while racing horses online?While Digiturf.com is responsible for scheduling virtual races, it is the virtual horse racing community that takes responsibility for the direction of the game. Admittedly Digiturf.com is primarily a horse racing website but it is obvious that 'Digiturfers' also enjoy buying and selling horses. That's because 'Digiturfers' are only as good as their horses and virtual horses at Digiturf.com are worth their weight in gold.Horse racing buffs will know that horses can be sold in a claiming race at a fixed claiming price. Imagine how popular they are when players sold 4,600 horses worth $64,000.00 (US) through their claiming races in 2010. That's $64,000.00 (US) cold cash for cartoon horses that a bank manager would probably accept as collateral.Claiming races form the lowest rung in the hierarchy of horse racing, followed by maidens, before progressing through the division races and championships - but they're not dumping grounds for bad horses because trainers know they can also turn a healthy profit running in claimers. For example, one seven-year old colt, Playwithmyemotion, was claimed and sold twice by three of his previous trainers, Cmr Racing, Steel Dragon Stables and Tuna Stables. Playwithmyemotion was so popular that he was claimed eleven times last year!Claiming races are suitable for racing and selling the average horse but if you want to make real money on Digiturf.com you want to sell your horses in the online auctions where the average bidding price is about $122.00 (US) Over 2,400 virtual horses were auctioned to the value of $300,000.00 (US) last year but the highest bid was for Secret Legend for $6,001.00 (US). Secret Legend went on to win three Championship titles while earning over $12,688.00 (US).

Ap Incredible AP822 Black Lotus $2,500

Pool Party Two Turned Barn Filante Stables $2,155
Boost Your Stable Oto Stables Inc Black Lotus $2,075
Miss Independence Shore Stables Cepat Kaya $2,026
Salty Girl Captinj Chrisman $2,000

You can call them 'cartoon' horses but they're worth every penny! If you're looking to claim a really great horse then you can stake your claim in Digiturf.com'sCheltenham Gold Claimers where 30 claiming races have been programmed between March 14 and 18, 2011 with US$30.00 added sponsorships per race. They're expected to attract the stronger horses that can compete for added sponsorships but their owners are prepared to sell at a reduced price so new players also compete in the virtual horse racing community.Digiturf.com is also giving away free horses to all new players who join!
