Bigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming Championships!
Distance 2400 Track England Yielding
Filante's The Red Devil Won a Classic Qualifier and a Belmont Qualifier at this distance on a fast track. He would be favored with a firm turf course. Tockyocky Racing is loaded with a 4 horse entry in the finals. Toc Hells Kitchen won the Belmont Stakes and won a qualifier on a firm surface. He will be tough to handle if the track comes up firm or good. Toc Metal Jacket is a talented horse whose best efforts appear to be on the dirt, but shows some excellent efforts on a yielding turf course. Turbo Returns had a big 2nd on the distance on a firm turf course. He needs that surface to contend. Toc Prince Robert's best efforts are on a yielding turf course. If he gets his preferred surface he could get a piece of the purse..Jakobstars' Baby Star ran 2nd at the distance in the Belmont Final. This versatile colt can run well on just about any surface and is certainly a contender.Chrisman has a two horse entry in the finals. Hombre Del Hierro has been a tough Hombre all season. If the track is yielding he would be my upset pick. He could also be a big factor on a soft track. Dazinski (GB) has a nice 2nd at the distance, but all of his best efforts have been on a fast track.Evil Racing Ltd made a nice mid-season purchase in Rooster's Rescue. He can handle the distance and shows excellent efforts this season on a variety of surfaces. He is a sleeper who could surprise with some racing luck. Al Adnan's Second Guess has some very nice races at this distance on firm and good surfaces and is another that could surprise if he gets the track that he wants.Maple Leaf Farms' Freak Turbulence is a nice horse who prefers shorter distances and a muddy track. He would be a surprise if he contended in the finals.Karl Khoder's Benediction has a 3rd at the distance. But that was on a fast track. He does not show a big race on the turf this season. Stud Indian Joe's Pirilampo Do Ro has two nice efforts on a yielding turf course this season. But both have been at shorter distances. Colwells End's The Londoner made the finals thanks to a big win in the season's last qualifier. Although that was on a fast track, he shows some run on a firm turf course and could grab a share if the turf is dry.RACE ANALYSISThis race has longshot written all over it. The big favorites, The Red Devil and Toc Hell's Kitchen don't show any top efforts on a yielding turf course and would have to run lifetime bests on those surfaces to contend. Baby Star shows handling many surfaces, but his top efforts have not been on a yielding track either. Most of the other horses do not show being able to handle the distance or the surface.Pirilampo Do Ro prefers a shorter distance but likes a yielding turf course. Rooster's Rescue also shows being able to handle the surface. Both have a chance to be in-the-money, although they do not look like contenders for the top spot. Hombre Del Hierro likes the distance and can handle the surface. The #14 post position makes it tough to pick him for the top spot, but he certainly could win it all. Toc Metal Jacket and Toc Prince Robert both show that they can handle the distance and have good efforts on a yielding turf course. Either one can win. Robert has the advantage of the #1 post position, while Metal Jacket appears to be the better horse. My lukewarm choice in this race is Toc Metal Jacket.Good luck to all. Bob
Bigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming Dubai Muddy CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
Distance 2400 Track Dubai Muddy
Chrisman's has a 3 horse entry in the finals. His top horse was a big mid-season purchase. Kalinisi is a versatile colt who can handle a fast or muddy surface, although his chances would improve if the track was wet. His stable mate Ruler on Ice is a nice horse but he appears to prefer the shorter classic distances. The 3rd member of the entry, Linda's Chief shows winning a Kentucky Derby Qualifier at the distance on a fast track and could be a sleeper if the track is dry.Evil Racing Ltd has a strong 3 horse entry in this race. He opened up the pocket book to purchase AP Secret Weapon this season. He has not been much of a secret, running well on multiple surfaces. He is a definite threat to win it all. Evil also has a serious threat with the Red Baron. If the track comes up fast, he could gun down his competition! Evil's other horse, Dallas Runner is a nice horse, but he does not appear to be at the level of Evil's other two horses.Boom Stables has established itself as a top stable in a short period of time and has a big shot at its first championship with Boom The Greek. This big time colt burst on the scene in mid-season and established himself as a serious threat for top honors. He shows big efforts on both a fast and muddy track, although he may like the mud a little better.Tockyocky Racing has a 2 horse entry in this race. Toc Man on Fire has been on fire this season and can run on a fast or muddy track, but the fire appears to go out at 2400. His other horse, Toc Pay Homage, has a win in a qualifier on a fast track and could be in the mix if he gets his favorite surface.Filante Stable's Satin Planet is a smooth runner who could be a contender if the track is fast. He shows no races on an off track. Black Lotus's Dawn Lightning has a win in a qualifier at this distance on a muddy track. If the track is wet, he could come thundering home to victory. Bigtymers' Fierce Vengeance has a win in the mud in a qualifier. Although the win was at 2200 the horse shows being able to run every distance through 3200 and has a chance to contend if the track is wet.Deeog's Quiet Prophet is an outsider in the race, but could surprise for a piece with some racing luck if the track is muddy.Inxs' Dakota Rex seems to prefer the turf and does not show championship level efforts on the dirt at this distance.RACE ANALYSISThe muddy track for the finals eliminates several horses who seem to prefer a fast track to a muddy track. Nevertheless, this appears to be a wide open race with 4 or 5 horses having a legitimate chance to win it all.I looked at the May 18th qualifier, run at today's conditions as a key race from a handicapping standpoint. That race was won by Dawn Lightning with Jack Ford aboard. AP Secret Weapon ran 3rd with Khaled Azzam, and Kalinisi was 4th with Adriana Menezes. Certainly Dawn Lightning could repeat that effort, but with better racing luck both AP Secret Weapon or Kalinisi could reverse the outcome of that race.In addition to those 3, Boom the Greek and Fierce Vengeance have legitimate chances and must be respected. Quiet Prophet could sneak in for a share, although I do not see him as a contender for the top spot.It is hard to pick a winner in this very open race. Kalinisi, who looks like the favorite here, only won 5 races this season. AP Secret Weapon, who looks like a strong contender, only won 3 races. In contrast, Boom the Greek won a third of his races while Fierce Vengeance has 13 big wins. Its a tough race. Off of the May 18th Qualifier, Kalinisi and AP Secret Weapon must be respected, and I am picking AP Secret Weapon to win it all with Kalinisi a close 2nd choice. In this wild race, either Boom the Greek, Fierce Vengeance, or Dawn Lightning could pull off an upset.Good luck to all. Bob
Bigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming SARATOGA SPRINT-FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
BIGBOB'S SARATOGA SPRINT-FILLIES PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track England GoodBlack Lotus' enters the finals with a 3 horse entry. Sakura has had an excellent season and is the pre-race favorite. She is versatile and can run on multiple surfaces, but has had the most success this season on a firm turf course. Sakura's entry mate Dream Steal won the Triple Crown Sprint at this distance but definitely favors a fast track over any of the turf surfaces. The 3rd part of the entry, First Up, is a nice sprinter who favors 1000 and 1200 over today's distance.Maple Leaf Farms has a big 3 horse entry also. Rusty's Princess is no longer the unstoppable force that she was a couple of seasons ago, but she likes the distance and can run on virtually anything. She is definitely a danger to win it all. Her stable mate Center Ice Loonie can handle the distance and will be dangerous if the turf is yielding. Ap Kong Queen is not quite at the level as her stable mates and would need her preferred surface, a good track, to have any chance at grabbing a share.Tockyocky's Black Lightning has stepped up her game as a 4 year old and can contend for top honors if the turf is firm. Her entry mate Toc Kill at Will is very versatile and can run the distance, but she is definitely the weaker part of the entry.Filante's Hurricane Allie appears to have lost a step as a 4 year old. She finished 2nd in the Juvenile Sprint at this distance on a soft turf course and would need a similar surface to get a share of the purse. Chrisman's Rooster's Flute came 2nd in last season's sprint final on a muddy track. Her best races this season have also been in the mud, although she has some decent efforts on a soft turf course. Her entry mate Toc Black Plague appears to be an outsider in the field and an in-the-money finish would be a surprise.McKinleys' Miss Independence has had a nice season and is a consistent and tough filly. She likes a good turf course and could surprise on that surface. Tuna Stables' Zarzuela won this race two seasons back on a yielding turf course. She also has a 2nd and a 3rd in other sprint finals. She won a qualifier on a good turf course at 1200 and another in the mud at 1400. She cannot be ignored if she gets some racing luck. Myrtle's Knackery's Silent Reward was the shocking winner of last season's Saratoga Sprint. She loves the mud and the 1200 distance and today's distance and surface make her a longshot in this field. RACE ANALYSISAlthough there look like there are two big favorites in this race, it would not be a surprise to see an upset. There are a couple of great champions in Rusty's Princess and Sakura. But 1400 is not the Princess' best distance and a good turf course is not the preferred surface for Sakura. Toc Black Lightening and AP Kong Queen both like a good turf course and should contend for a share. Zarzuela is a past champion who likes a good turf and shows good races at the distance. She could definitely surprise if the breaks go her way. Sakura can certainly win it all but I am picking against her today. Rusty's Princess is my pick to win the race. If you are looking for long shot with a chance to pull off a major upset, Miss Independence is a possibility. Good luck to all. BobBigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming SARATOGA SPRINT-COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
BIGBOB'S SARATOGA SPRINT-COLTS PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track England GoodThe two top contenders in this race are Black Lotus' Toc Black Magic, and Chrisman's Toc Genghis Khan. Both are champions and either one and can win it all. Both of them prefer off tracks and the shorter sprint distances. But both are champs in every sense of the word and are deserving favorites. Filante Stables' Purple Chip had an excellent season and is a tough colt. But he seems to favor the 1200 distance and would seem to need some racing luck to grab a share. Xstud's Darknight from the Xstud Stable has a nice win at the distance and would have a shot to give the stable its first championship if the track comes up firm. In addition to Toc Black Magic, Black Lotus has three other horses in the finals. AP Devil's Bag can handle the distance and has a good shot if the turf comes up firm. Simply Spiteful also likes the distance and prefers a soft or yielding track. AP Total Chaos shows some nice races at the distance. He prefers the dirt but could factor on a firm turf course. It seems that no matter what the surface will be, the stable has a horse that can contend. In addition to Khan, Chrisman has Khal Drago in the finals. The horse prefers the 1200 distance and the turf to today's conditions. Robslob's Navel Hero is another horse that can handle the distance and needs to be respected if the turf comes up firm. Colwells End's Ritchie's Titanic always seems to jump up and run a big one when you least suspect it. He likes a good turf course and can certainly handle the distance as is evidenced by his two wins in qualifiers at the distance. Filante Stables' Terrestrial was a bargain purchase last season who has run well this season. He needs a soft or yielding surface to have a chance for a share. Bigbob's Bob's Big Boy will need a firm turf course and some racing luck to grab a share. Paranoid's Monkey Wrench can handle the distance and has had a season full of terrible randoms. The stable hopes that he saved up some luck for the finals. Doctor Turf's Quick Step Dancer is a bit of an enigma. His best races are at 1000, but he shows some good races at 1600. His best chance to get a piece of the purse would be on a firm or good track. RACE ANALYSISOn the surface, there are two stick out horses here, Toc Black Magic and Toc Genghis Khan. Black Magic may be the best sprinter in all of Digiland at the moment. Khan is as fearsome as his name. But although both can run on a good turf course it is certainly not the favorite surface for either of them. Several horses have ability and can handle both the distance and the surface. Although I do not think that they are candidates for the top spot, Xstud's Darknight, Ap Devils Bag, Navel Hero, Monkey Wrench, and possibly Quick Step Dancer all have a chance for a piece of the purse. The two big favorites Toc Black Magic and Toc Genghis Khan are the obvious favorites. I think that Black Magic is the horse to beat and he is my pick to win it all. A longshot that may have a chance to pull off a big upset is Ritchie's Titanic if the breaks go his way. Good luck to all. BobBigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming TRIPLE CROWN SPRINT-COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
BIGBOB'S TRIPLE CROWN SPRINT-COLTS PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track England Good Tockyocky's Toc Black Mamba won last season's Juvenile Sprint and is a threat to repeat. On a firm or good surface he would be tough to beat. Toc's powerhouse barn has 2 other runners in the race. Toc Evil Empire is a versatile colt who seems to prefer a soft or yielding turf course. Kudos appears to be a 1000 meter specialist who also has some good races at 1200, but not at 1400. Evil Racing's Fourstardave loves this distance but seems to favor the dirt over the turf. But he shows nice races on a firm and good turf course and is a worthy contender capable of a five star performance. His stable mate Red Sky Mine was a mid-season auction steal for Evil. He appears to strongly prefer the mud but may grab a share on a yielding turf course.Chrisman has a dangerous 3 horse entry. His first horse, Jaime Lannister favors 1200 over today's 1400 distance, but does show a win in a Saturday Stars race at 1400. Cozzene, true to her racing namesake, prefers the turf and likes the distance. Both horses need a firm or good turf course to run their best. His 3rd horse Saratoga Kid(NY) made the finals thanks to a nice effort in the mud and would be a surprise on the turf.Gebbs' Tr Returns is another colt that favors a firm surface. He does not look like he can grab the top spot, but has a chance to be in the money if he gets his preferred surface. Rio Co's Rio Dundee won a qualifier at 1200 in the mud and appears to be a little better at that distance. He also prefers the mud although he won a Saturday Stars Race at this distance on a yielding turf course. Colwells End's Vegas Stallion seems to prefer the mud and a longer distance. He has a couple of good races on a soft turf course but will need some racing luck to grab a share. Filante Stable's Quality Sprint loves the mud, but his best races have been at 1200. With racing luck, he could grab a share but it would a surprise to see him win it all. His stable mate Traxide Trouble made the finals thanks to a surprise win at this distance in the final qualifier. That win was in the mud, but this runner shows some ability on good, soft, and yielding surfaces. He could surprise.Boom Stables' Boom Champ prefers the classic distances to today's sprint distance, but unlike many other runners, he likes the turf, and could sneak in for a share. RACE ANALYSISOver half the field had their best efforts on the dirt and do not appear to be contenders for the top spot here. A couple of others like Traxide Trouble and Boom Champ are outsiders who could surprise for a share because they are among the few horses in the race that can handle the surface. Boom Champ won a qualifier last season at this distance on this surface and beat all of the top contenders. The three top contenders, not surprisingly, are Fourstardave, Cozzene, and Toc Black Mamba. Fourstardave loves the distance and is a versatile horse who can handle the surface but seems to do a bit better on the dirt. Toc Black Mamba was going to be my top pick, but I "changed my mind at the window". You know how that goes! He will probably win for sure! At the last moment, I went to Cozzene in this race. The real life Cozzene was a top grass horse and this tough colt wears the name well. He looks tough at the distance on a good track and is my pick to win it all. Good luck to all. BobBigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming TRIPLE CROWN SPRINT-FILLIES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
BIGBOB'STRIPLE CROWN SPRINT-FILLIES PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track America Muddy Chrisman has a strong 2 horse entry in today's final. Cersei Lannister has had a solid season. She can handle the distance and would be favored on an off track. Her stable mate Creature of Habit is no slouch and cannot be ignored. Since her bargain purchase by Chrisman in mid-season, she has a win and a 3rd in the mud at this distance. Karl Khoder's Danni Martine is a talented and versatile filly. She can handle the distance and appears to be able to run on any surface, although her best races have been on the turf. She won the last qualifier at today's distance in the mud.Canasta Stables made a serious mid-season purchase in getting Dances in Shadows. Her best races have been at 1200 and mostly on the turf, although she has a 2nd in a qualifier on a fast track. As usual, the powerhouse Tockyocky Racing stable has more than one finalist. Toc White Peppa has run tough all season. She likes the distance but needs an off track. Tr Pheonix likes the dirt but seems to prefer 1200 over today's distance. Fraser Racing has its first Championship Starter with Black Monaro. This tough filly has had a nice season. She loves the distance and if the track is muddy and she gets some racing luck, she could grab a piece of the purse. Red Barn racing also has its first Champ starter with Gottawin. She appears to strongly favor 1000 over today's distance and will need a lot of luck to contend. Black Lotus has a 2 horse entry in the finals. Both Soshified and Orma De Aigles like the mud. Soshified appears the stronger of the two and would be a serious threat on a wet track. Orma De Aigles, a championship finalist, was purchased for just $92. in mid-season! Inxs' Dakota Bear is a tough filly, who like many others in this race, likes a muddy track. But she seems to prefer the shorter distances over today's distance. Stud Indian Joe has a 2 horse entry in the finals. Foll in Love relishes an off track but prefers 1000 and 1200 to today's distance. Careless Joe is one of the few horses in this race that likes a fast track, and could surprise for a piece on a dry track. Last and certainly not least is The Manor House's Tmh Said It what. She was the surprise winner of last year's Juvenile Sprint in the mud. Although she loves the mud, but her last qualifier suggests that she may not be able to contend at 1400. RACE ANALYSISAs we've already seen in several of the other sprint finals, either the distance or the surface eliminates a lot of the horses. That is the case in this race. Many of the horses don't like the distance. Some prefer either a fast track or the turf. Toc White Peppa and Black Manaro show good races in the mud and appear to have the ability to grab a share of the purse. The top picks in this race are Cersei Lannister, Creature of Habit, Danni Martini, and possibly Soshified. Soshified has had some excellent races in the mud, but mostly in the 2nd instances of qualifiers. Although she likes the mud, I am not sure that she is at the same level as the top three. Danni Martini won a qualifier at this distance in the mud and certainly could repeat that performance. But I am leaning towards two others in the finals. The Chrisman Entry of Cersei Lannister and Creature of Habit appears very tough to beat in this race. Either could win. I am picking Cersei Lannister for the top spot. Good luck to all. BobBigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming JUVENILE SPRINTCHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!
BIGBOB'S JUVENILE SPRINT-FILLIES PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track Hong Kong- Soft Tockyocky Racing's Toc Sonic Boom begins her quest for 2 championships with today's Juvenile Sprint. This terrific and versatile filly is a threat on any surface and is the gal to beat. Chrisman's Safety Kept is the chief contender. She has a win at the distance, can run multiple surfaces, and comes from a barn that is always a threat in the Champs. Her stable mate Xstuds Queenie can handle the distance, but all of her best efforts have been on the dirt.Filante Stables Olympias burst on the scene in mid-season and has been a major presence this season. Filante broke the bank to bring this gal into his barn and is hoping that she can justify his purchase with a big win in this race. She would benefit from a firm turf course. Evil Racing has a very dangerous entry in Ides of March and Rooster's Jewel. Both of them can run the distance and both fillies are versatile and can handle multiple surfaces. Ides of March seems slightly the better of the two, but both are capable of coming in the money. Inxs' Dakota Bubbles has had a solid season for this excellent barn. If the turf course is firm she has a good shot to hit-the-board (that's Yank talk for coming in the money!). Black Lotus' AP Speed of Light was another big mid-season acquisition. This tough and capable filly has had some tough racing luck most of this season and the stable hopes that the breaks come their way in the finale although 1200 seems to be her best distance. Rio Co's Rio Desert Vixen appears to like the 1600 distance more than 1400, but if the surface for the finals is firm or good, she could come in the money with some racing luck. Bigbob's Bob's Cicada likes the distance and could grab a share if the turf is good or firm for the finals. Jefcain's Bandits is a solid contender. She has a win in a qualifier and needs a yielding turf course to run her best although she has a couple of good efforts on a soft course. Gebb's Gebbs Rebel Girl won the Maiden Juvenile Championship at 1200. Although she has a 3rd at 1400, most of her best efforts have been at 1200 which appears to be her preferred distance. Brookfield Lodge's Pegasus Dream won the Belmont at 2400 and was versatile enough to have a 2nd at 1200 in a qualifier. She appears to favor longer distances but can run multiple surfaces and certainly can't be ignored. Onoonoflyers' Onoonowhite did not show a strong performance at the distance and it would be a surprise to see her contend. RACE ANALYSISA soft turf course makes this an interesting race. No one in this race shows truly excelling on the surface. This would appear to make it harder for an outsider to spring a surprise. Many fillies in this race seem to prefer the 1200 or 1600 distances to the distance in today's final. It will be tough for any of them to overcome the favorites. This race looks like it will come down to the big 3 of Toc Sonic Boom, Olympias, and Safety Kept. Any one of them could win, but I am picking Toc Sonic Boom to win it all. From the other horses, Ides of March seems to have the best chance to contend. Good luck to all. BobThursday, July 26, 2012

If your horses are Olympic material then you should enter them today!
Digiturf.com is proud to sponsor the virtual Olympics 2012 for both the horse racing community and also fans of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, which are being hosted in London, United Kingdom, from 27 July to 12 August 2012.
While we’re aware of the unsettling relationship between the origins of the Olympics and Greeks bearing gifts in the virtual horse racing community the Race Programmer and the DEV team have gone to great pains to ensure that there will be no Trojan horses, computer viruses or erratic randoms that could derail the virtual Olympics 2012. The Race Programmer has dedicated US$3,150.00 total sponsorships to the virtual Olympics 2012 WFA (Weight For Age) races. These WFA races are perfect for horses of all ages - this season and the next. All horses eligible for the WFA races next season can be entered into the Olympics 2012 even ahead of their age change.
This is where is where the eligibility gets a bit technical because the Olympics 2012 have been scheduled from 27 July to 12 August 2012.
All current 2-7Y horses can enter the Olympics 2012 WFA races from 27 – 31 July 2012.
All current 2-6Y horses can enter the Olympics 2012 WFA races from 27 – 31 July 2012.
As all 7Y horses will be retired on the 1 August 2012 they will not be eligible to compete next season.
Yearlings are currently ineligible to enter next season’s races until the new season when they turn 2 years old.
A few more points worth considering is that all the super competitive horses will be competing in the Championship Series, which allows you to enter your WFA contenders into some seriously competitive horse races where the fields are open to the best runners as the Championship Series contenders battle it out in their finals and consolation races. Next season’s strongest yearlings will also be tied up in their Maiden Championship races. Don’t expect the Olympics 2012 races to be easy races because you’re still facing the best of the best across all age groups who are all equally determined to win as many races and as much of those sponsorships as possible. Part of the challenge of winning the Olympics 2012 is rising up against the competition and leaving them behind in your wake. Not that we want to reference Trojan horses again in the Olympics 2012 but this is where your horses should be making driftwood of the competition.
Why is Digiturf.com hosting the virtual Olympics 2012 besides the fact that the virtual horse racing community is a big fan?
It doesn’t matter if you’re a bigger fan of any of the Olympic 2012 events; be it archery, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe / kayak, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, handball, judo, modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing, shooting, soccer / football, swimming, synchronized swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, triathlon, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting or wrestling, because the same skills required to compete in any of those sports at an Olympic level are the same skills required to compete in Digiturf.com’s virtual Olympics 2012 races.
Your horses need the stamina, strength, speed, agility and endurance to compete in any of those Olympics 2012 races. And let’s not overlook the grace required to make winning those races look effortless despite the training and discipline required to prepare for them. We might appreciate the gracefulness of a virtual horse but when it comes to winning races we’d settle for guts and glory and flat-out racing but the Olympic horse needs to embody all the virtues of the Olympics and more.
The Race Programmer’s wife, Mrs. Race Programmer, a formidable woman in her own right, says that, “According to legend, the Olympic Games were founded by Hercules, son of Zeus. The Olympics 2012 races aren’t for mere “virtuals”, they’re for virtual thoroughbreds that are only available from Digiturf.com’s Sales Ring, because only Digiturf.com’s Sales Ring can produce real thoroughbreds strong enough to compete in the virtual Olympics 2012 races!” (Apologies to the creators of ‘300’ for using that line so badly!)

BIGBOB'S JUVENILE SPRINT-COLTS PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track America- MuddyJefcain made a big mid-season purchase of Noisy Boy. This tough colt shows wins at 1400 on both a fast and muddy surface and will be tough to beat regardless of the surface in the finals. Although the renowned AP822 Stable sold many top contenders in auctios this season, the stable held onto AP Jack Hammer. He won a qualifier at this distance on a muddy track and would be dangerous if the track comes up wet, although he can handle a fast track too. Primetime Stables has a serious threat in its quest for its first championship in Pt Alter Ego. This outstanding colt shows wins at several distances, including 1400, and on virtually any surface. He seems to really like the mud and if the final is on a muddy track, he could win it all with some racing luck. The Mad Russian's The Viktor(RUS) is another sleeper with good races at the distance. He can run on either a fast or muddy track, and TMR hopes that with some racing luck, The Viktor can bring home his first championship.Black Lotus has three solid runners in the finals, with AP War Machine, AP Straight Edge, and The Setting Trick. "The Machine" likes the distance and has good efforts on both a fast and muddy track. He is a solid contender. The Setting Trick also has good efforts at the distance including a big 2nd in a qualifier in the mud. AP Straight Edge loves the distance and the mud. This entry will be very dangerous on an off track!Karl Khoder's Diamond Earth has had a good season and has shown that he can run the distance. Although he shows good races on both fast and muddy tracks, an off track would appear to be his best chance to grab a share of the money. Filante Stable's French Sun seems to prefer the 1600 distance to the finals' distance. An off track would be his best chance to come in the money. Al Adnan's Fiery Ananda has a couple of good races in qualifiers, but both were at 1200. He does not show any top efforts at today's distance. Maple Leaf Farms has a good two horse entry. Hello City has a nice win in a qualifier at 1600 on a fast track, but is another horse that does not show top efforts at 1400. Apollo's Anvil also seems to prefer 1200 over 1400 and it would be a surprise to see him contend.Dime a Dozen's Delta Griffin has had a very solid season and shows good efforts on a fast and muddy track. He likes today's distance and could grab a share. But he does not seem like a contender for the top spot. Bigbob's Bob's Chief snuck into the finals with a 3rd at this distance in the mud in the last qualifier. His only chance for a minor share is a lot of luck and if a monsoon hits during the finals. RACE ANALYSISIt will definitely be a wide open final, and a great beginning to the Championship Races. Virtually every horse in the race likes an off track, and all of the top contenders show good efforts on the surface. Noisy Boy has had a solid season, and The Viktor(RUS) certainly shows some excellent efforts in the mud. It would not be a surprise to see either of them grab the top spot. There are quite a few horses like AP Straight Edge, The Setting Trick and Diamond Earth, who look like they could be in the hunt with some good racing luck. But the 3 best horses in the race at this distance, in the slop appear, to be AP Jack Hammer, Pt Alter Ego, and AP War Machine. All three appear to excel at the distance and the conditions. With so many horses liking the mud its a tough race to call, but I am picking AP Jack Hammer to win it all with AP War Machine as my 2nd choice. Good luck to all. BobWednesday, July 18, 2012
High stakes horse racing becomes a virtual reality online at Digiturf.com!
Digiturf.com has just confirmed that it is bankrolling its 35th season of virtual horse racing with an additional $320,000 in sponsorships. Digiturf.com is also giving free horses to all new players who want to experience the thrill of training and racing their horses against other players for the most lucrative stakes on the Internet.
Digiturf.com is a skills-based virtual horse racing game that appeals to punters, poker players and gamers alike. The lucrative sponsorships are an obvious draw but the real secret to its success is its online community that encourages all players to get fully involved in every aspect of managing their simulated stable — from choosing their jockey’s silks, training horses for competitive racing, and even wheeling and dealing through online auctions and claiming races where trainers can even buy and sell horses. There’s a lot to do on Digiturf.com, and they do it well!
It’s challenging, for sure, but it’s rewarding too considering over 621,339 races have been scheduled and over $20,700,000 has been paid out in 11 years. Digiturf.com is incredibly well organized. Each season, which lasts four months, is sponsored in excess of $300,000 and virtual horses are graded and handicapped according to their ability, age and gender. Digiturf.com believes virtual horse racing is a game of strategy and skill because there aren’t any easy wins when every player is competing to win the most races and the highest stakes.
Digiturf.com's race program caters to everything from maiden races through highly competitive championship races. The races can be viewed through an interactive 3D Raceviewer which simulates races in full technicolor detail and even allows viewers to zoom their camera 360 degrees around every aspect of the race. It’s not going to replace real-life horse racing any time soon, but it comes close enough to making you wish it could.
It's the competitive spirit of trainers that drives virtual horse racing, but it’s the opportunity to win cash that makes Digiturf.com so much fun. You can race your horses in nickel ‘n dime races but high stakes players ride straight into the championship standings to compete in the $79,000 Championship Series. This is where some of the big players became real life millionaires though their virtual horse racing.
"Pillbutt" became the world’s virtual horse racing millionaire on Digiturf.com in 2009 after winning 13,154 races and scooping 36 championship titles. He was so modest about his achievement that he declined Digiturf.com’s offer to rename one of its 18 championships in his honor. "Chrisman" is the site’s virtual cowboy who broke "Pillbutts’" record with fewer races and more wins to become the richest player in the history of Digiturf.com.
The ladies and their fillies are equally determined. "Samster," the queen of virtual horse racing, found her filly was a bit of a wildcard when she bulleted down to the green through three championships in a row. That Triple Crown victory doubled her earnings — and gave her what could be loosely termed a royal flush!
Professional poker player and triple virtual horse racing champion, Max Pescatori, a rock in the virtual horse racing community maintains if you have any experience with horses you will find the game just like the real sport of kings. He is proudly positioned in 41st place as one of Digiturf.com’s Top 100 players of all time. He wasn’t mucking about when he joined Digiturf.com, although it looked like he had a concealed pair in the shape of "Zucchero Pes" and "Granchio Pes", who earned him $3,000 in his first championship races. He emphasizes that he trusts Digiturf.com completely because they have no incentive to "fix" races.
Digiturf.com is preparing for its 35th season of virtual horse racing starting on Aug. 1, 2012. If you’ve ever dreamed about racing your own horses then virtual horse racing is going to make it a reality — so go ahead and saddle up at Digiturf.com!

Is ultrasound coming for virtual horses at Digiturf.com?
Ultrasound for Virtual Horses
Notwithstanding the fact that it’s impossible to get a filly knocked up on Digiturf.com but there’s a persistent misconception that if horses were allowed to have “virtual relations” then they could breed some kind of monster horse. This is simply not true.Firstly, no one could afford the time because a real filly gestates for 11 months, which means a virtual filly would require an entire racing season to foal. There’s no way she could produce a healthy foal within in a shorter period of time; and it would be inhumane to shorten their development time just because they’re virtual horses - they can’t be expected to breed like tadpoles! Then there are the financial implications for the owner who can’t race his filly for an entire season. Consider how much trainers are prepared to pay for champions in the auctions before asking them to let you breed your horses with their champion filly? Or more realistically, how much would you expect to be compensated for a little colt on filly action - the kind of action that puts your filly out of action for an entire season. Finally, there are no guarantees that a virtual filly could carry a foal to full term without complications. True to real-life breeding, genetics are also subject to random variables. Two G1 thoroughbreds could produce some G3 monster or a recessive gene throws out a mule. The Tack Shop can help with virtual vitamins and bullets but they can’t perform an ultrasound. Time wasted, money lost and someone still needs to buy the bullet. These are things which would never happen in the Sales Ring, a reputable institution with over ten-years’ experience supplying quality horses to the virtual horse racing community at Digiturf.com’s, where every horse is raceable (when trained properly) and you know that you’re getting a competitive G1, G2 or G3 horse that is free of disease or genetic imperfections. This is especially true of the yearling sale. You know you’re getting colts and fillies but don’t know anything about their innate abilities? The yearling sale is like ultrasound for virtual race horses. You get your horses prematurely so that you can train them over all tracks, distances and goings. You don’t even need to wait for their second birthday to know how they’re going to perform in their first race. While checking they’ve all got four hooves and one tail you can also train them so they’re fighting fit and race ready for the new season. You wouldn’t want to hold your juveniles back in life so buy them as yearlings and train them to be strong! We know this is an unexpected surprise but the yearling sale starts today.Everybody knows that yearlings are the best financial investment any trainer who is serious about virtual horse racing can make when it comes to building a competitive stable. You can start training them the minute you get them so that they’re ready to race from the first day of the new season. They get a head start in virtual racing and they get it free because their first stabling fee will only be due in September 2012, e.g. a yearling bought on 12 July 2012 won’t have a stabling fee due on 12 August 2012, then if still unraced thereafter it will have a US$2.00 stabling fee due on 12 September 2012. Technically, this means you get to keep your yearlings for free: yearlings eat for free, train for free, and sleep for free on Digiturf.com. That’s because you should spend as much time training your yearlings until they drop because next season they are going to be kept on their hooves running in some of the most competitive races ever seen on Digiturf.com! Get your yearlings today, and prepare them for the upcoming Maiden Juvenile Championships in the new 35th Season!Digiturf.com’s yearling sale begins in the Sales Ring and ends with you in the winner’s circle! The Fine Print:- Yearlings will be available from 00:01 GMT on 9 July 2012 until 23:59 GMT on 31 July 2012.
- The sales ring defaults to 2Y horses, remember to select the 1Y horse.
- Yearlings have the same ability that they will have as 2Y horses.
ie. Ageing from 1 to 2 years has no effect on the horses’ ability.
- Yearlings are trained against 2Y training horses to gauge their abilities as a 2Y horse.
- Yearlings become 2Y horses on the first day of the new season.
- Yearlings can only enter races as 2Y horses in the new season.
- Racing, Claiming, and Auctions are only available for horses aged 2-7 years.
- Yearlings can be bought with bonus credits or cash, but using cash can get you some extra free horses. The champions of tomorrow start training as yearlings today!
