Mckinleys Prepares To Lead The People
Its good to see that Mckinleys has kept her feet firmly on the ground and remained true to her roots. There’s been none of that lording about since she won last season’s Juvenile Classic Championship F - Gr1 with Domination Abi. One might anticipate a little gloating but the lady just gets classier by riding her horses with the common folk in the GR2 races. We love it. Is Mckinleys the next Queen of virtual horseracing- because that filly championship victory smacks just a little of a little déjà vu. Perhaps its motherhood, but Mckinleys appears to prefer being of service to the community. While Samster will always be our Queen (it takes a Triple crown to be a queen!) perhaps Mckinleys is the People’s Princess. Expect great things from Mckinley.
Confessions Of A Sales Ring Junkie
Is it just me of is there something supernaturally potent about Whymea Farms? He’s literally gone from newbie to nuclear, exploding through 1,000 runs and winning 92 of them. Let’s not be crass and start counting those them 500 Runs and 50 Wins awards on our fingers. Only 23 of those races were newbie races- the rest were stakes races, qualifiers and a championship. That kind of success is enough to make one green with envy but it just goes to show how a little application and a lot of preparation can take you anywhere on Digiturf. We’ve subsequently learnt that Whymea Farms doesn’t ask questions when he can find the answers himself, Maxim magazine applauds that he’s not a flashy dresser, and the RP informs us that Whymea is not interested in meeting anyone’s daughters- the man is already married. The RP checked!
No News From The Newbies
Where is the next generation of newbies to lead Digiturf into the future? Gw Stable, Dark Knight, Pc Friars, Mrpboys, Qbic, The Head Whip, Woltz's Bed, Top Wire, Yamming and Suicidal Stables are the most successful newbies of the season- and they’ve been equally successful maintaining a low profile. Remember when newbies were loud mouthed and obnoxious a few seasons back? Makes us miss their outspokenness in comparison. Perhaps if the leaders of the virtual horseracing community were to reach out, adopt a newbie for a day and welcome them to the community, maybe offer some assistance about finding the ideal races for their horses... because today they’re a newbie, tomorrow your friend and the next day they’re consoling you with, "Better luck next time- I just had the better jockey! Remember when President Barack Obama said, “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”
Numero Uno Trezza, Numero Uno Trezza, Numero Uno Trezza
The golden boy who went platinum on Digiturf certainly knows no limits- his presence rivals the Roman Empire (old Italy). Trezza has already whipped up 123 wins from 492 races this season (or the last 2 weeks). Interestingly, none of them were in Newbie races because we did check. His cash balance, if it is to be believed, is clearly a GR1 cash balance. We know Trezza’s good fortune on Digiturf does little to brighten your day; his success is everywhere, in your face, in your races and even on your horse’s details page. And writing about it is like rubbing your nose it like bad puppy that just wet the carpet. Isn’t there anywhere one can go without having Trezza in the picture? If You Can’t Be #1 Rather Be # 4656 Instead
Trezza might be the tallest poppy in the Digiturf garden of success but he’s by no means the only successful trainer. The current top ten eager beaver, over achieving, credit crunching, recession busting , horse racing trainers are ... 1: Trezza Stables ($8,165)
2: MudFlaps ($4,656)
3: Chrisman ($4,381)
4: PillButt ($3,181)
5: Captinj ($2,416)
6: Knickerbocker Farms ($2,142)
7: Tri M Fent Stables ($2,128)
8: Samster ($1,457)
9: Winning 420 ($1,329)
10: Black Lotus ($1,267) Apparently, the only thing that tastes sweeter than success is being more successful than the next. Next!
All You Need Is Attitude
Anyone can be a champion trainer but it takes more than money to get a horse into the Winners Circle. An incredible amount of skill, savvy and strategy is required when it comes to managing the future of a champion. It takes a winning attitude to get those horses across the finish line first. Effective immediately; One Eye Bandit, This One Hurts and Purple King are leading the Current Championship Point Standings. With such forward planning one can only expect great things from these horses and their owners. So, what are you going to be doing with your horses today?
They Shoot Horses Don’t They?
A sad fact of life is that we all have to cash in our chips at the great roulette wheel of life. It makes no difference if you’re big or small, rich or tall, tinker, tailor, beggar man or thief; when your number is up- it’s up. Following the natural cycle of life, the old makes way for the young and the miracle of life continues. The life of a champion is no different. If you can’t earn your keep then it’s time to bite the bullet. Farewell to last season’s Championship Series contenders; Annie's Liberator, Blazing Princess, Captainamerica, Capucine, Darker Shade, Dragon Warrior, Fantasmic, Just A Figment, King Of The World, Naval Hero, Reina De Diablos, Royal Clash, Six Perfections, Song Qinzong, The Blackfish, Three Charms, Trogg and Whotoldthewife. Which brings me to my next point. Sometimes, the only sanctuary these retired horses can find is when a kindly person takes them into their hearts and creates a sanctuary for these great horses. For a nominal donation of only $1,000 (once off) to my foundation, I can create a sanctuary that cares for these great horses throughout their golden years. Please note, The Edward Bell Foundation For Retiring Hoarses does not accept cheques or bonus credits! You want to send me $1,000 for my foundation because you know that nobody knows hoarses better than Edward Bell!

Whose horse would you happily retire even if you had to pay for the bullet?
The results will be published in the upcoming Track Tabloid. The prizes include world peace, global cooling and ten consolation prizes of positive energy to share with your best friends.
Edward Bell is a freelance writer whose credits include Mens Health, GQ, FHM, Fitlife, ESPN and Times Media Limited. If he wasn’t so obsessed with stalking the virtual horseracing community he might find enough time to nurture a hangover, sleep in late, write something meaningful or meet a nice girl of marriageable proportions instead of talking enthusiastically about cartoon horses every chance he gets with strangers at the bus stop!
