Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
I cherish every Championship as there are only very few horses the can achieve this feat each season and the competition is so tough.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
Darling Star was a total surprise as neither the distance nor the going was her favorite. I guess Jack Ford makes any horse looking good. I do have some confidences on Smiling Goddess and Ap Atomic Bomb as they were running on their best distance and going. Glad they got a good random. Smiling Goddess is my homebred. Every time a homebred wins a championship, it is more special. Ap Atomic Bomb has underachieved all his career and I am glad he finally wins a big race for me. There are so many rivals in each champ race by many great trainers so I feel very lucky to win!

What routines do you follow before the race?
Just make sure they are fit for the race and check all equipment. The rest is up to the randoms. I shared my wins with a few friends.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
I learned a big lesson this past season that I can share with other trainers - Qualify your horse early, don't wait until the last 2 qualifiers of the season. I screwed up on Madam Pecka and she missed the Arlington Gold Cup. Ap Atomic Bomb barely got in the champ race only after he won the last qualifier.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Like I said above I am going to qualify my horse earlier.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
Not much celebration as there were age changes coming up after the champ series. I'll reinvest my winnings in rings and auctions.

Digiturf.com interviews Gw Stable on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Gw Stable on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
It felt great after I saw the replay, and realized the horse had really done it. I was in awe.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
Indigo Power had won the two qualifiers which were the same distance and going. I still wasn't optimistic about it because he had run in a WFA against some big horses, finished 4th and flipped. He was barely raceable, and if we had raced on Sunday, he wouldn't have won. I was thankful we ran on Monday instead, though others weren't.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I didn't get to follow much of a routine for any racing championship weekend. I had a wedding to attend, and a fantasy football meeting to run, so I watched most all of my races on replay. When the Sunday race wasn't run, I contacted Digi and was told it would be rescheduled for Monday. I had to work during the race Monday, so I watched the rerun. I noticed I had an unread message, so I guess the first person I shared the victory with was Jay of Barton Stud.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
I guess now I would say keep your horse in tiptop shape, make sure he is equipped properly because these top trainers will show no mercy. They will help, but they won't win for you. Keep your chin up because eventually the good one will come to you. I waited about 10 seasons for IP.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
I would not run a horse in a distance it doesn't excel in just to see how it does.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
I really haven't celebrated much. I'm a quiet kind of guy. I bought some new colts and fillies, so not much big spending.

Final Comments:
Anyone who hasn't tried this website don't know what they are really missing. I'm glad I happened upon it in 2009. I am also glad to get the first championship out of the way.

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Maiden Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Maiden Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
Feels good as this horse is coming from my in house added money Brown Eyed brand. I am glad finally one of these won a champ even though it is only a maiden champ.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
I am quite confident she can place with a good random but my biggest rival is Yki Angelic. That looks like the horse to beat. I was lucky to get a better random and won.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I just got the horse from the ring in the middle of the maiden champ series, so I have to rush her into the races and hope she scored enough points.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
This is a maiden champ so it depends on what kind of yearlings you got. One thing to note is that it may take less to win compares to the season end champ series as it is so early in the season and you just hope bigger horses are not coming out yet.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Nothing much as this is only a maiden champ.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
None. This is only a maiden champ, and the bonus credit I got will be spent in the sales ring.

Digiturf.com interviews Boom Stables on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Boom Stables on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
Really I was so happy wining this race, I had almost the same feeling when one of my real horses won its first cup race!

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
After I saw the going was muddy instead fast which my horse does not likes at all and check my rival horses I was almost sure that my horse will win the race if it was ridden by one of the 1st four random jockeys. I just lost my hopes winning this race for an hour I think about a month before the finals when I saw toc king kong training results in the auction but after I checked that with the remaining qualify champ races cannot make it to the finals became optimistic again.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I was sleeping as where I live was about 5.00 in the morning but I set up the alarm and woke up at 4 waiting anxiously for the race. I share my victory with my son but later in the morning after he woke up so I celebrated two Times the victory as I pretended that I was just watching it for the first time.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
If I think I have the right horse at the right distance to make the finals and with luck to race on his favorite ground then I race him In the champion series and I make sure collects enough points. For the big race. Also I follow my rival horses and if I believe cannot win the big race even by getting the #1 random then I let him drop in the 2nd and 3rd instances.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Now I won my first one I will try every season at least a couple of my horses to make it to the big final races with good chance of winning it and as many as I can of my other G1 horses racing at the 2nd and 3rd instances of the finals. If I do not find one horse which I can make it a champion from the sales ring then I will try to buy one from the auctions and why not even claim a good one as a 2year old and by good improvement Through the age changing maybe can turn him to a champ as a 4 year old.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
Ha ha , nothing special I just shouted yeaaaaaaaa!! My winnings I will spend in Digiturf racing so to get the chance of owning better horses and always improving my stats as Digi since this year became my number one hobby !

Final Comments:
Wish to all trainers who have not won a champ race to have the luck to win one because is a so Great feeling. Also wish to the veteran trainers to win many more champ races because really they deserve it as They Need to spend so much time training and race their horses. Wish to all trainers’ good health and good luck!

The same wishes for you Digi and Thank you so much you created this game which gave me the opportunity to be able to take care of my horses while I am sitting home something which I cannot do for my real horses as I live far away from my country where they race.

Congratulations Boom Stables & Al Adnan Stable on accomplishing what most people thought impossible at Digiturf.com.

Congratulations to the rookies that rocked the Championship Series!

It is always encouraging to see virtual horse trainers winning their first Championship Series races at Digiturf.com.

The Championship Series is challenging enough for the virtual veterans of the game, who sometimes take years to win their first title, so one can’t help but feel extra excited when a new trainer wins their title so soon after joining the game. We know that even the veterans never get blasé about winning their races, no matter how many titles they’ve won previously, so imagine how excited Boom Stables and Al Adnan Stable were to have won their first titles within their first year of joining the Digiturf.com virtual horseracing community.

Boom Stables joined Digiturf.com on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He ran one free race, which he lost, before saddling up for the graded races, rated races and claiming race where he could start racing for money. It wasn’t long before he was saddling up for qualifiers and championship races. He may have been an enthusiastic runner but he wasn’t a reckless about it either. Within two seasons he has raced in over 8,209 and earned $49,075 but his focus has always been on winning or placing in a quality race rather than just building an impressive racing form. He’s placed in 44% of his races and won 1,310.

He’s a man with a mission when it comes to competitive racing and nothing represents competitive racing better than the Championship Series. Boom Stables has competed in nine of them, placing in two but never winning one until he found Boom The Greek in the Sales Ring. It was the perfect match between ambitious trainer and a determined colt that was born to go the distance. Boom The Greek loves a 2200M / 2400M turf track but he’s comfortable over a dirt track.

The Juvenile Classic Championship C - Gr1 was a cinch for him. Ap Secret Weapon got a good lead for the first hundred meters but Boom The Greek took the lead within minutes and held that lead right down to the finish line. There may have been some jostling between the other horses for a better position but that wasn’t a consideration for Boom The Greek. His place was upfront and personal. His victory wasn’t an easy one, Ap Secret Weapon was less than a length behind him at the finish line and was closely followed by Dawn Lightning and Red Baron.

Even though Boom Stables didn’t have to run the race he did have to stand alongside champion heavy weights like Chrisman, Black Lotus, Filante Stables and Tockyocky Racing. He may have been a virtual rookie in the Championship Series but on Sunday, July 29, 2012 he proved he could to count himself amongst the champions based on his own merit. Based upon his racing style to date, we susect ths is only the first time we’ve seen this rising star in the winners’ circle in Digiturf.com Championship Series.

It was the following day at Digiturf.com’s Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C that another rookie rocked the championship Series as Al Adnan Stable saddled up for his 7th Championship Series. He’s already competed in seven championships but never won nor placed in any of them. One almost feels sympathetic when you realize he’s never won a qualifier in his life before.

Some rookies are just too ambitious for their own good, especially when you see them putting the cart before the horse, like Al Adnan Stable trying to win a championship before he can win a qualifier. The Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C is not a race for the faint hearted as his Second Guess falls fabulously from the front to the pack of the track like some Trojan horse. Al Adnan Stable took no chances entering another horse in the same race, and it looked as though it was paying off as Df New Generation was leading the field for most of the races.

Somehow Second Guess got his second wind towards the last1,000M as he gradually started closing the distance between himself and his stable mate in the lead. At times it didn’t look like would make it make, and when he did he was being given the run of his life from Df New Generation. All trainers have the favourite horses (not always champions) but horses that one feels a special bond towards. We don’t know which horse Al Adnan Stable would have preferred to see win him the Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C title- but we’re certain he’s pretty excited about the one that did.

Al Adnan Stable has racked up 1,866 runs and over $15,700 in earnings since he joined Digiturf.com on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Within four months he’s accomplished what most people only dream of accomplishing over several years. And that’s no mean feat when it comes to racing virtual horses at Digiturf.com!

Digiturf.com would like to congratulate both Boom Stables and Al Adnan Stable on accomplishing what most people believe to be impossible. We thank you for inspiring us all to spread our wings a little wider and our dreams a little higher and wish you every possible success with your future Championship Series races!

How did the killer know Linda was vulnerable to triple-glazed caramel doughnuts?

Who shot Linda Fitzgerald on Digiturf.com?

It is with great sadness that we have to inform everyone about the tragic loss of one the finest members of our virtual horse racing community at Digiturf.com. While we ask everyone to respect the family’s right to privacy during their time of heartache and grief they have agreed to allow Digiturf.com to dedicate a day of virtual horse racing to the memory of their lovely, and often misunderstood daughter, Linda Fitzgerald, a close friend and respected jockey to everyone in the world of virtual horse racing, whose light will shine as brightly in the community as it was so cruelly cut short.

In an ironic twist of fate, just before Digiturf.com’s 34th Championship Series, the world’s 34th highest ranked virtual jockey was shot down dead in cold blood by a deranged madman who jumped the rails and ran directly into the field of Ms. Fitzgerald’s last race. The masked offender distracted Ms. Fitzgerald by throwing dozens of triple-glazed caramel doughnuts in her direction during before attempting to shoot her down at point-blank range. Eyewitnesses report that the valiant Ms. Fitzgerald tried admirably to maintain her composure during the incident but was defenseless against the onslaught of deep-fried confectionary falling from the sky. The Race Programmer said it was a tragic way for her die because she loved those triple-glazed caramel doughnuts more than life itself.

Linda’s love of food was often the butt of many a derisive joke in the virtual horse racing community but the Race Programmer says he prefers to remember her as a simple Irish girl with a healthy appetite for life. She once polished off a pork & veal terrine, a whole roasted sirloin of beef followed by a vanilla panna cotta with mixed berry couli, chocolate shards & whipped cream for dessert before saddling up for the Hobart Cup WFA just because the $320 luncheon included a complimentary race book. He said Linda’s life was a short but full one.

A tearful Ming Ho recalls her friend warmly. “Linda never took no for an answer. When the Mardi Gras WFA committee banned her from attending their debutante ball because they said she was just a drunk and their event was a family occasion she simply threw herself into the in the French Quarter wearing the silk gown she had designed herself in the traditional purple, green and gold colors of the Mardi Gras, adorned with layers of local beads and coconuts, and proceeded to flash innocent people in the streets of New Orleans. It was a riot!”

Despite an unfortunate youth, Linda put her celebrity status to good use as she whipped up support from trainers and jockeys alike to raise awareness about prejudice in the virtual horse racing community called jockeyism. She was always campaigning for equal rights, not just female jockeys but all jockeys. She was especially proud of Rosie Napravik when she became the first female jockey to win the Kentucky Oaks in 2012. Linda said it was just marvelous to see a female jockey being afforded the respect that she deserved after proving that female jockeys are just as capable of winning the big races when they could also get the horses that had been trained right by their owners.

Ms. Linda Fitzgerald was an icon at Digiturf.com, famous for competing in over 54,855 races, yet modestly declining to mention how much money she had won, because Linda always said that racing virtual horses was a service to the virtual horse racing community that was filled with love, devotion, gratitude and that her rewards were in heaven. May she find those rewards she so justly deserves.

The Race Programmer has scheduled a day of racing in honor of Linda Fitzgerald on Sunday, 5th August 2012. All trainers are invited to enter their best horses ridden by Linda into the RIP LINDA races. The family has requested that in lieu of sponsorships all the bonus credits be donated to Linda’s favorite charity, Taco Bell; however there will be two Prive RIP LINDA races sponsored with US$200.00cash to reflect the caliber of her racing prowess.

Digiturf.com also invites you to help help us solve her murder: Who shot Linda Fitzgerald?

Who Killed Linda Fitzgerald? Today is the last day to solve the murder mystery on Digiturf.com!

http://forums.digiturf.com/Posts.aspx?fid=8&tid=60680&iv=y

Can You Help Find Linda’s Killer?

The Fitzgerald family are offering 5 X US$20.00 prizes rewards to the five trainers who can offer the best information that identifies who killed Linda Fitzgerald. The forum police are investigating every lead possible and have appealed to anyone in the virtual horse racing community to please come forward if they have any information that could lead to the arrest of the person responsible for the death of Linda Fitzgerald.

Someone must know something!
How did the killer know Linda was in that race?
How did the killer climb through the Raceviewer undetected?
How did the killer know Linda was vulnerable to triple-glazed caramel doughnuts?
Which trainer is capable of murder in the peaceful community of Digiturf.com?

Apparently, the following trainers are under investigation for the murder of Linda Fitzgerald:

Randall D Farms made no secret of his resentment for Linda Fitzgerald. He often joked that if you got “Linda ELLAphant Fitzgerald” in a race she probably wouldn't have even got out of the gate.

Brookfield Lodge was equally disparaging when he said he was filled with despair when he got Linda Fitzgerald and his horse trotted along behind the field like it was having an afternoon stroll in the park.

ZoWhat said Linda Fitzgerald sucks. He was hurt by the jockey and held her accountable for a poor racing performance. He said Linda sucked [as a jockey] - more than once. Forum police suspect a romantic involvement.

Strangefur was also frustrated at Linda Fitzgerald. Asking why he should continue racing virtual horses at Digiturf.com when he continued to draw Linda Fitzgerald as jockey. He was swearing because he was so frustrated.

But the most damning lead appears to be Cayenne King who said, “Trust me digi...there would be no accident if LF was shot. Only way that would be possible is if we couldn't tell which one was the horse & which one was the jockey!”

Guess who killed Linda and win US$20.00! Who do you suspect killed Linda?

5 X US$20.00 prizes rewards will be awarded for the best leads.
All leads can be posted anonymously in the thread below.
Prizes Rewards will be paid after the RIP LINDA races.

We interview Helen Back about winning real championships and virtual races at Digiturf.com!

Digiturf.com is proud to interview top jockey Helen Back about winning real championships and virtual races!

Helen needs no introduction to followers of American horse racing because she always make headlines whenever she races. She has been featured on ESPN, Thoroughbredtimes, Americanturf and was even voted People magazine’s 93rd sexiest sportswoman alive but she prefers to be remembered for her victories in the Silverbulletday Stakes (2012), John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes (2012), Fair Grounds Oaks (2012), Peter Pan Stakes (2012), Sanford Stakes (2012) and also the Kentucky Oaks (2012).

She says it’s great to be a “rookie” again but we’re just thrilled that a bone fide horse racing celebrity has agreed to be interviewed by us for ESPN about joining Digiturf.com- and the forums.

Digiturf.com: Welcome to Digiturf.com, Helen! Please tell us how you came to join us?
Helen Back: I was googling horse racing games and found you guys. I read a lot about Samster and the Chrisman making so much money in the championships that I had to come check it out. I was impressed enough to join and haven’t regretted it. It’s the next best thing to real-life racing- and I know what I’m talking about!

Digiturf.com: What’s the best thing about Digiturf.com that you enjoy the most?
Helen Back: I loved everything from the beginning to now. I thought choosing my silks was a fun part. I spent hours on that part, but then I am a girl so it’s important to get the colours and design right. I also liked the tack applications where I could geld and add vitamins and all that.

Digiturf.com: What advice would you give to new players joining Digiturf.com?
Helen Back: I’m a fast learner because I know all about horses and horse racing but it’s really easy to get into and the free races are also a fun way to learn the game. I claimed a few horses (must thank Tuna Stables for his great advice) to get a few good ones and tried bidding in the auctions but Tri M Fent beat me to the one I wanted. I guess you should just ask coz there’s lotsa great players here ready to help. I haven’t met any of them yet on real life but I hope to.

Digiturf.com: We have to ask what was it like being one of People magazine’s sexiest 100 people?
Helen Back: It was flattering but I’m not impressed by that stuff coz FHM already said I was second only to Paris Hilton in the hottie stakes but I prefer to be known for my riding. Riding is my real passion. I just love the smell of hot leather and sweat and the smell of grass. Riding is also the ultimate exercise for your buns and thighs so it keeps me in shape. I like being healthy and in shape for my rides.

Digiturf.com: How did being disqualified from the American 2012 Olympic Equestrian team feel?
Helen Back: Those [edited], [edited], [edited], can all go [edited] and [edited] themselves – I was innocent. I was framed. So someone published pictures of me inhaling an unknown white substance but I explained it was an organic, homeopathic, crystalline substance derived from the Brazilian coco plant for recreational purposes. It’s not like I was doing crack or anything!

Digiturf.com: Describe your racing style in life and on Digiturf.com.
Helen Back: Well I like the straight tracks otherwise it feels like I’m following my nose all over the place. I just need lots of little races so I can concentrate on the finish line but I don’t like lots of little lines rather than a big fat one coz you know you it can also feel a bit obsessive all that cutting, slicing, dicing and chopping. I’m not like some Martha Stewart with a razor blade in the kitchen!

Digiturf.com: What do you think of Linda Fitzgerald?
Helen Back: Just thrilled to replace her in the virtual horse racing community. The only job offer I had was leading donkeys around a circus tent for spoilt brats. I hate kids. I had three of them myself and couldn’t wait to give them back to their fathers because every time I got home I had to feed them like stray cats or something. But I’m really pleased to be racing at Digiturf.com. I just want all the trainers to know that I love horses and know I have big shoes to fill which isn’t going to be easy because Linda took a size 11 shoe- she must have looked like a man in drag wearing silks! I’m looking forward to replacing her.

Digiturf.com: Any final words for the virtual horse racing community at Digiturf.com?
Helen Back: Not really. I’m not here to win a popularity contest with anyone. I just wanna race horses to hell and back, like Linda did, so everyone will remember Helen Back.

And that’s where we were forced to cut our interview short as Helen Back had a few racing commitments to attend to but we’re sure you will be meeting her soon enough- and know you’re going to love her as much as we do.

First-timers that cracked Digiturf.com's Championship Series deserve around of applause!

Digiturf.com invites you to help solve Linda Fitzgerald's murder! The world's worst jockey has run her last race!

Are you ready for a new era in Race Programming at Digiturf.com? You'll love it if you are!

A New Era in Race Programming

We have been working on a different way of pre-scheduling races. A more automated system that will be implemented in stages over the next few months. We will be trialling and tweaking it as we go along.

WHY…
The utter diversity of horses in the game has meant that we’ve till now had to methodically pre-schedule a vast range of races so as to try cover the range of racing needs in the game.
This means that a huge amount of pre-scheduled races are left to be cancelled daily (over 50%) due to insufficient entries. These same races cause clutter in the race schedule and cause disappointment amongst owners who enter but don’t get to race as a result.
We are simply devising a more automated system that pre-schedules races based on a combination of horse ‘HP settings’ and recent race popularity. It can hence schedule races more accurately according to demand.

FIRST TO BE TESTED…
‘C Division 3Y C - Gr2’ (Colts) and ‘C Division 3Y F - Gr2’ (Fillies).
Scheduling system being implemented as from the 6th August, so as to affect the above races from the 9th August 2012.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU…
- No change to the games pages is required, ie. this change only affects scheduling of races.
- Eventually we will no longer have the 9 day cycle through distances as the less popular distances will be scheduled less often whilst the more popular distances will be more frequent.
- Horse management strategies might change over time as a horse may be able to race more frequently in popular races but only for as long as it remains fit to be competitive.

NB. Use the HP facility to save your horses racing preferences

Note:
- This change only affects the way races get pre-scheduled.
- Request-A-Race (RAR) remains unchanged, and by its nature will complement the new system.
- This system will only gradually be implemented over the next few months.

If we can please ask for your support by being understanding and working with us to tweak this system as we do believe it will be to your racing benefit.

More info will follow over the next few weeks.
