Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
I cherish every Championship as there are only very few horses the can achieve this feat each season and the competition is so tough.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
Darling Star was a total surprise as neither the distance nor the going was her favorite. I guess Jack Ford makes any horse looking good. I do have some confidences on Smiling Goddess and Ap Atomic Bomb as they were running on their best distance and going. Glad they got a good random. Smiling Goddess is my homebred. Every time a homebred wins a championship, it is more special. Ap Atomic Bomb has underachieved all his career and I am glad he finally wins a big race for me. There are so many rivals in each champ race by many great trainers so I feel very lucky to win!

What routines do you follow before the race?
Just make sure they are fit for the race and check all equipment. The rest is up to the randoms. I shared my wins with a few friends.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
I learned a big lesson this past season that I can share with other trainers - Qualify your horse early, don't wait until the last 2 qualifiers of the season. I screwed up on Madam Pecka and she missed the Arlington Gold Cup. Ap Atomic Bomb barely got in the champ race only after he won the last qualifier.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Like I said above I am going to qualify my horse earlier.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
Not much celebration as there were age changes coming up after the champ series. I'll reinvest my winnings in rings and auctions.

Digiturf.com interviews Gw Stable on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Gw Stable on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
It felt great after I saw the replay, and realized the horse had really done it. I was in awe.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
Indigo Power had won the two qualifiers which were the same distance and going. I still wasn't optimistic about it because he had run in a WFA against some big horses, finished 4th and flipped. He was barely raceable, and if we had raced on Sunday, he wouldn't have won. I was thankful we ran on Monday instead, though others weren't.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I didn't get to follow much of a routine for any racing championship weekend. I had a wedding to attend, and a fantasy football meeting to run, so I watched most all of my races on replay. When the Sunday race wasn't run, I contacted Digi and was told it would be rescheduled for Monday. I had to work during the race Monday, so I watched the rerun. I noticed I had an unread message, so I guess the first person I shared the victory with was Jay of Barton Stud.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
I guess now I would say keep your horse in tiptop shape, make sure he is equipped properly because these top trainers will show no mercy. They will help, but they won't win for you. Keep your chin up because eventually the good one will come to you. I waited about 10 seasons for IP.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
I would not run a horse in a distance it doesn't excel in just to see how it does.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
I really haven't celebrated much. I'm a quiet kind of guy. I bought some new colts and fillies, so not much big spending.

Final Comments:
Anyone who hasn't tried this website don't know what they are really missing. I'm glad I happened upon it in 2009. I am also glad to get the first championship out of the way.

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Maiden Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Black Lotus on winning his Maiden Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
Feels good as this horse is coming from my in house added money Brown Eyed brand. I am glad finally one of these won a champ even though it is only a maiden champ.

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
I am quite confident she can place with a good random but my biggest rival is Yki Angelic. That looks like the horse to beat. I was lucky to get a better random and won.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I just got the horse from the ring in the middle of the maiden champ series, so I have to rush her into the races and hope she scored enough points.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
This is a maiden champ so it depends on what kind of yearlings you got. One thing to note is that it may take less to win compares to the season end champ series as it is so early in the season and you just hope bigger horses are not coming out yet.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Nothing much as this is only a maiden champ.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
None. This is only a maiden champ, and the bonus credit I got will be spent in the sales ring.

Digiturf.com interviews Boom Stables on winning his Championship Series

Digiturf.com interviews Boom Stables on winning his Championship Series

What did it feel like for you to win your Championship Series?
Really I was so happy wining this race, I had almost the same feeling when one of my real horses won its first cup race!

How optimistic were you about winning and who was your biggest rival in your races?
After I saw the going was muddy instead fast which my horse does not likes at all and check my rival horses I was almost sure that my horse will win the race if it was ridden by one of the 1st four random jockeys. I just lost my hopes winning this race for an hour I think about a month before the finals when I saw toc king kong training results in the auction but after I checked that with the remaining qualify champ races cannot make it to the finals became optimistic again.

What routines do you follow before the race?
I was sleeping as where I live was about 5.00 in the morning but I set up the alarm and woke up at 4 waiting anxiously for the race. I share my victory with my son but later in the morning after he woke up so I celebrated two Times the victory as I pretended that I was just watching it for the first time.

How do you prepare for a Championship Series & what advice would you give other trainers?
If I think I have the right horse at the right distance to make the finals and with luck to race on his favorite ground then I race him In the champion series and I make sure collects enough points. For the big race. Also I follow my rival horses and if I believe cannot win the big race even by getting the #1 random then I let him drop in the 2nd and 3rd instances.

What would you do differently in future Championship Series?
Now I won my first one I will try every season at least a couple of my horses to make it to the big final races with good chance of winning it and as many as I can of my other G1 horses racing at the 2nd and 3rd instances of the finals. If I do not find one horse which I can make it a champion from the sales ring then I will try to buy one from the auctions and why not even claim a good one as a 2year old and by good improvement Through the age changing maybe can turn him to a champ as a 4 year old.

How do you celebrate winning a Championship Series?
Ha ha , nothing special I just shouted yeaaaaaaaa!! My winnings I will spend in Digiturf racing so to get the chance of owning better horses and always improving my stats as Digi since this year became my number one hobby !

Final Comments:
Wish to all trainers who have not won a champ race to have the luck to win one because is a so Great feeling. Also wish to the veteran trainers to win many more champ races because really they deserve it as They Need to spend so much time training and race their horses. Wish to all trainers’ good health and good luck!

The same wishes for you Digi and Thank you so much you created this game which gave me the opportunity to be able to take care of my horses while I am sitting home something which I cannot do for my real horses as I live far away from my country where they race.
