A New Era in Race Programming
We have been working on a different way of pre-scheduling races. A more automated system that will be implemented in stages over the next few months. We will be trialling and tweaking it as we go along. WHY…
The utter diversity of horses in the game has meant that we’ve till now had to methodically pre-schedule a vast range of races so as to try cover the range of racing needs in the game.
This means that a huge amount of pre-scheduled races are left to be cancelled daily (over 50%) due to insufficient entries. These same races cause clutter in the race schedule and cause disappointment amongst owners who enter but don’t get to race as a result.
We are simply devising a more automated system that pre-schedules races based on a combination of horse ‘HP settings’ and recent race popularity. It can hence schedule races more accurately according to demand. FIRST TO BE TESTED…
‘C Division 3Y C - Gr2’ (Colts) and ‘C Division 3Y F - Gr2’ (Fillies).
Scheduling system being implemented as from the 6th August, so as to affect the above races from the 9th August 2012. WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU…
- No change to the games pages is required, ie. this change only affects scheduling of races.
- Eventually we will no longer have the 9 day cycle through distances as the less popular distances will be scheduled less often whilst the more popular distances will be more frequent.
- Horse management strategies might change over time as a horse may be able to race more frequently in popular races but only for as long as it remains fit to be competitive. NB. Use the HP facility to save your horses racing preferencesNote:
- This change only affects the way races get pre-scheduled.
- Request-A-Race (RAR) remains unchanged, and by its nature will complement the new system.
- This system will only gradually be implemented over the next few months. If we can please ask for your support by being understanding and working with us to tweak this system as we do believe it will be to your racing benefit. More info will follow over the next few weeks.
