Congratulations to the rookies that rocked the Championship Series!
It is always encouraging to see virtual horse trainers winning their first Championship Series races at Digiturf.com. The Championship Series is challenging enough for the virtual veterans of the game, who sometimes take years to win their first title, so one can’t help but feel extra excited when a new trainer wins their title so soon after joining the game. We know that even the veterans never get blasé about winning their races, no matter how many titles they’ve won previously, so imagine how excited Boom Stables and Al Adnan Stable were to have won their first titles within their first year of joining the Digiturf.com virtual horseracing community. Boom Stables joined Digiturf.com on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He ran one free race, which he lost, before saddling up for the graded races, rated races and claiming race where he could start racing for money. It wasn’t long before he was saddling up for qualifiers and championship races. He may have been an enthusiastic runner but he wasn’t a reckless about it either. Within two seasons he has raced in over 8,209 and earned $49,075 but his focus has always been on winning or placing in a quality race rather than just building an impressive racing form. He’s placed in 44% of his races and won 1,310. He’s a man with a mission when it comes to competitive racing and nothing represents competitive racing better than the Championship Series. Boom Stables has competed in nine of them, placing in two but never winning one until he found Boom The Greek in the Sales Ring. It was the perfect match between ambitious trainer and a determined colt that was born to go the distance. Boom The Greek loves a 2200M / 2400M turf track but he’s comfortable over a dirt track. The Juvenile Classic Championship C - Gr1 was a cinch for him. Ap Secret Weapon got a good lead for the first hundred meters but Boom The Greek took the lead within minutes and held that lead right down to the finish line. There may have been some jostling between the other horses for a better position but that wasn’t a consideration for Boom The Greek. His place was upfront and personal. His victory wasn’t an easy one, Ap Secret Weapon was less than a length behind him at the finish line and was closely followed by Dawn Lightning and Red Baron. Even though Boom Stables didn’t have to run the race he did have to stand alongside champion heavy weights like Chrisman, Black Lotus, Filante Stables and Tockyocky Racing. He may have been a virtual rookie in the Championship Series but on Sunday, July 29, 2012 he proved he could to count himself amongst the champions based on his own merit. Based upon his racing style to date, we susect ths is only the first time we’ve seen this rising star in the winners’ circle in Digiturf.com Championship Series. It was the following day at Digiturf.com’s Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C that another rookie rocked the championship Series as Al Adnan Stable saddled up for his 7th Championship Series. He’s already competed in seven championships but never won nor placed in any of them. One almost feels sympathetic when you realize he’s never won a qualifier in his life before. Some rookies are just too ambitious for their own good, especially when you see them putting the cart before the horse, like Al Adnan Stable trying to win a championship before he can win a qualifier. The Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C is not a race for the faint hearted as his Second Guess falls fabulously from the front to the pack of the track like some Trojan horse. Al Adnan Stable took no chances entering another horse in the same race, and it looked as though it was paying off as Df New Generation was leading the field for most of the races. Somehow Second Guess got his second wind towards the last1,000M as he gradually started closing the distance between himself and his stable mate in the lead. At times it didn’t look like would make it make, and when he did he was being given the run of his life from Df New Generation. All trainers have the favourite horses (not always champions) but horses that one feels a special bond towards. We don’t know which horse Al Adnan Stable would have preferred to see win him the Triple Crown Stayers Championship 3Y C title- but we’re certain he’s pretty excited about the one that did. Al Adnan Stable has racked up 1,866 runs and over $15,700 in earnings since he joined Digiturf.com on Sunday, March 18, 2012. Within four months he’s accomplished what most people only dream of accomplishing over several years. And that’s no mean feat when it comes to racing virtual horses at Digiturf.com!Digiturf.com would like to congratulate both Boom Stables and Al Adnan Stable on accomplishing what most people believe to be impossible. We thank you for inspiring us all to spread our wings a little wider and our dreams a little higher and wish you every possible success with your future Championship Series races!
