Soccer Preview: Redemption Or Humiliation for Greece Against Nigeria Today?

After being whipped into second position in their last games neither Greece nor Nigeria have much room to maneuver except to score big or go home. Even worse, drop the defense and see another ball shooting into their goalposts before going home following a World Cup disgrace.

The Trojan horse of the World Cup had little to do besides defend their goalposts and maybe score a goal; instead they saw their future flash before their eyes as the flighty South Koreans scored two against their none! This was particularly disconcerting as the Hellenic squad is highly regarded for their strong defense. They better move their defense lines further from the goalposts against Nigeria who employ a proactive offensive tactic ; although this wasn’t evident in their game against Argentina, so they will probably capitalize on their strengths and attack Greece’s Achilles heel.

We’re probably not going to see any original gameplay here as both teams resort to their tried and trusted tactics; Greece will play the defensive while Nigeria will play the offensive. Let’s hope it’s not so because spectators aren’t buying World Cup tickets to experience something they can experience in their own backyard; flashes of déjà vu don’t make for exciting soccer!
