The only way to increase your earnings is to keep your horses racing as actively as possible because time is money when it comes to growing a successful stable. 

For every day that your horses aren’t running, it’s another day where your stable is losing money to stabling fees without any income from your horses’ races. The quickest way to start winning money from their races is to get them racing from the first day of the season, and, the quickest way to accomplish that is to buy your horses as yearlings and train them to start racing from the first day of the new season. 

You could always buy your horses later in the season, but buying them now gives them a head start in their races. Bob's Big Red and Moment Of Change certainly pulled out all the stops to earn over $3,000 each as juvenile runners this season, one wonders how the Championship Series could change their fortunes. Hurricane Allie follows with $2,444 earnings for the season, with One Kung Pao and Morgan Le Fay settling into fourth and fifth positions of the most successful horses of the season bought as yearlings. For juvenile horses they're making more money in their own right than some trainers!
