Kentucky Derby Classic Championship - Colts - Dubai 2400 Muddy

Never have I seen a field of such talented horses that are absolutely unsuited to the day's race conditions - we have no less than 10 "monsters" in this race and not one of them is suited to the 2400 Muddy trip - this race is a landmine for punters and you may as well select the winner by closing your eyes and pointing to one with your pencil.

Looking through the form, I think that Chrisman holds a very strong hand in the race with Django looking to be his best challenger on these conditions - Django is a top class colt who has been overshadowed by the monsters of his generation, but he has one thing many of them don't have - that little bit of extra stamina for the 2400 Metre trip, he has never won at Dubai 2400 though which is a little concerning. Another that has no problem with the trip is stable companion Grand Nagus, with a bit of luck in the running he will be right there.

A very difficult race to select a winner, but I am going to stick my neck out and say Django to win it from his stablemates Grand Nagus and Ap Executioner - the minor money could be nabbed by any other horse in the field that grabs a top jock on the day.

Kentucky Fillies Classic Championship - Fillies - Dubai 2400 Muddy

This season we have a top class field in the Kentucky Fillies Classic with no less than eight of the runners having very strong chances. Once again, due to the extended classic distance of 2400, there are a few top fillies that will need more than a little good luck to earn and I can't see these 2200 specialists challenging the powerful stayer types.

It's almost impossible to separate the top four in this race and the winner is likely to come from any of Divine Liz, Rolex Girl, Doggy Blaster or Macka Fat - all four fillies have shown exceptional form over today's conditions and I have a slight leaning towards Divine Liz as he has previously won a Championship trophy over the identical conditions.

Doggy Blaster seems a little under-rated in the race and I feel she is very capable of an upset while Flash Dance, Miss Alacrity and Pan Tasmic are all capable of winning if things go their way.

To sum it up I'm going to go with Divine Liz to win it from Rolex Girl and Doggy Blaster with all of Macka Fat, Flash Dance, Miss Alacrity and Pan Tasmic fighting it out for the minor money.
