Bigbob previews Digiturf.com's upcoming SARATOGA SPRINT-COLTS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!

BIGBOB'S SARATOGA SPRINT-COLTS PREVIEW

Distance 1400 Track England Good

The two top contenders in this race are Black Lotus' Toc Black Magic, and Chrisman's Toc Genghis Khan. Both are champions and either one and can win it all. Both of them prefer off tracks and the shorter sprint distances. But both are champs in every sense of the word and are deserving favorites.

Filante Stables' Purple Chip had an excellent season and is a tough colt. But he seems to favor the 1200 distance and would seem to need some racing luck to grab a share.

Xstud's Darknight from the Xstud Stable has a nice win at the distance and would have a shot to give the stable its first championship if the track comes up firm.

In addition to Toc Black Magic, Black Lotus has three other horses in the finals. AP Devil's Bag can handle the distance and has a good shot if the turf comes up firm. Simply Spiteful also likes the distance and prefers a soft or yielding track. AP Total Chaos shows some nice races at the distance. He prefers the dirt but could factor on a firm turf course. It seems that no matter what the surface will be, the stable has a horse that can contend.

In addition to Khan, Chrisman has Khal Drago in the finals. The horse prefers the 1200 distance and the turf to today's conditions.

Robslob's Navel Hero is another horse that can handle the distance and needs to be respected if the turf comes up firm.

Colwells End's Ritchie's Titanic always seems to jump up and run a big one when you least suspect it. He likes a good turf course and can certainly handle the distance as is evidenced by his two wins in qualifiers at the distance.

Filante Stables' Terrestrial was a bargain purchase last season who has run well this season. He needs a soft or yielding surface to have a chance for a share.

Bigbob's Bob's Big Boy will need a firm turf course and some racing luck to grab a share.

Paranoid's Monkey Wrench can handle the distance and has had a season full of terrible randoms. The stable hopes that he saved up some luck for the finals.

Doctor Turf's Quick Step Dancer is a bit of an enigma. His best races are at 1000, but he shows some good races at 1600. His best chance to get a piece of the purse would be on a firm or good track.

RACE ANALYSIS

On the surface, there are two stick out horses here, Toc Black Magic and Toc Genghis Khan. Black Magic may be the best sprinter in all of Digiland at the moment. Khan is as fearsome as his name. But although both can run on a good turf course it is certainly not the favorite surface for either of them.

Several horses have ability and can handle both the distance and the surface. Although I do not think that they are candidates for the top spot, Xstud's Darknight, Ap Devils Bag, Navel Hero, Monkey Wrench, and possibly Quick Step Dancer all have a chance for a piece of the purse.

The two big favorites Toc Black Magic and Toc Genghis Khan are the obvious favorites. I think that Black Magic is the horse to beat and he is my pick to win it all. A longshot that may have a chance to pull off a big upset is Ritchie's Titanic if the breaks go his way.

Good luck to all. Bob
