BIGBOB'STRIPLE CROWN SPRINT-FILLIES PREVIEW
Distance 1400 Track America Muddy Chrisman has a strong 2 horse entry in today's final. Cersei Lannister has had a solid season. She can handle the distance and would be favored on an off track. Her stable mate Creature of Habit is no slouch and cannot be ignored. Since her bargain purchase by Chrisman in mid-season, she has a win and a 3rd in the mud at this distance. Karl Khoder's Danni Martine is a talented and versatile filly. She can handle the distance and appears to be able to run on any surface, although her best races have been on the turf. She won the last qualifier at today's distance in the mud.Canasta Stables made a serious mid-season purchase in getting Dances in Shadows. Her best races have been at 1200 and mostly on the turf, although she has a 2nd in a qualifier on a fast track. As usual, the powerhouse Tockyocky Racing stable has more than one finalist. Toc White Peppa has run tough all season. She likes the distance but needs an off track. Tr Pheonix likes the dirt but seems to prefer 1200 over today's distance. Fraser Racing has its first Championship Starter with Black Monaro. This tough filly has had a nice season. She loves the distance and if the track is muddy and she gets some racing luck, she could grab a piece of the purse. Red Barn racing also has its first Champ starter with Gottawin. She appears to strongly favor 1000 over today's distance and will need a lot of luck to contend. Black Lotus has a 2 horse entry in the finals. Both Soshified and Orma De Aigles like the mud. Soshified appears the stronger of the two and would be a serious threat on a wet track. Orma De Aigles, a championship finalist, was purchased for just $92. in mid-season! Inxs' Dakota Bear is a tough filly, who like many others in this race, likes a muddy track. But she seems to prefer the shorter distances over today's distance. Stud Indian Joe has a 2 horse entry in the finals. Foll in Love relishes an off track but prefers 1000 and 1200 to today's distance. Careless Joe is one of the few horses in this race that likes a fast track, and could surprise for a piece on a dry track. Last and certainly not least is The Manor House's Tmh Said It what. She was the surprise winner of last year's Juvenile Sprint in the mud. Although she loves the mud, but her last qualifier suggests that she may not be able to contend at 1400. RACE ANALYSISAs we've already seen in several of the other sprint finals, either the distance or the surface eliminates a lot of the horses. That is the case in this race. Many of the horses don't like the distance. Some prefer either a fast track or the turf. Toc White Peppa and Black Manaro show good races in the mud and appear to have the ability to grab a share of the purse. The top picks in this race are Cersei Lannister, Creature of Habit, Danni Martini, and possibly Soshified. Soshified has had some excellent races in the mud, but mostly in the 2nd instances of qualifiers. Although she likes the mud, I am not sure that she is at the same level as the top three. Danni Martini won a qualifier at this distance in the mud and certainly could repeat that performance. But I am leaning towards two others in the finals. The Chrisman Entry of Cersei Lannister and Creature of Habit appears very tough to beat in this race. Either could win. I am picking Cersei Lannister for the top spot. Good luck to all. Bob
